What is FunQuest?

Like its name suggests, AZ FunQuest events are fun, quest-based events held throughout the Valley.  The events are part scavenger hunt, part footrace, part puzzle-solving, team-based competitions that guarantee you will never look at some Valley cities in the same way again.  You will notice buildings you would usually walk past, signs you might not notice otherwise, and little details you didn't even acknowledge.

AZ FunQuest events use various formats with their own rules and strategies, with puzzle-based "quests" serving as their core.

If you love word puzzles, you're in luck!  Many AZ FunQuest challenges incorporate an element of popular paper-and-pencil puzzles like word searches, cryptograms and logic problems.  But don't expect to be sitting on a bench solving puzzles all day - teams will need to travel via foot to find clues and to solve the puzzles that they lead to, all while using keen observation skills to complete each quest.

In addition to the core quests, various other games add another element to the competition.  Teams might receive pages of pictures that they must identify, and a general knowledge trivia challenge is a part of each event.

This is a point-based event.  Each quest and challenge has an assigned point value based on difficulty and expected time to complete.  No partial credit is given on any quest.  Only complete, correct answers are awarded points.  

There will not be enough time to complete all quests. Each team needs to decide which quests to work on so that they can earn the most points before time runs out. 

The winning team will be the team with the most combined points from completed quests, challenges and trivia.
